How to download xhamster videos nowadays?

The site used to allow downloads, then it was required to use external sites for that, but now not even those are allowing downloads anymore.

There is a way, but it's really gimmicky. I wrote a script that uses couple python packages to download the individual videos/entire pages of videos. I pretty much archived my entire favorites list from using it.

Depending on your browser you may be able to find a video downloader plugin that might help. Some may work well, others may only allow certain videos to be downloaded, so it's likely to be a matter of trial & error.
