Pantyhose of others
Recently I was searching my parent's basement for some pics. I had to open several boxes to locate what I was looking for. After 5 or so boxes, I opened one to discover it full of pantyhose packets. I pulled a few packets out and looked them over. The packets were for pharmacy and grocery store brand pantyhose.
I pulled several more packets and read that they contained ultra sheer pantyhose. I quickly realized that the pantyhose had been my grandma's. I recalled that she lived in ultra sheer pantyhose and the rare pair of ultra sheer stockings. The pantyhose must have been packed up when dad sold her house.
Though she seldom purchased brand name hosiery the pantyhose she did buy were always ultra sheer and boarded. How do I know? Way back in the day I discovered a basket in her basement filled with her worn pantyhose. As I sorted through the basket I saw that every pair was ultra sheer with reinforced toes. Astonishingly, few pairs had a run in them. Later, I learned she was a woman who wore her pantyhose once and was done with them.
Over the course of nearly 2 years I retrieved every pair of pantyhose from the basket. Grandma wore extra tall/queen size pantyhose so I knew the pantyhose would fit me. When I arrived home with the box I counted more than 70 pairs of pantyhose! I have been wearing them and when I have them on I am transported back to my adolescent/teen years.
Back then, I also wore pantyhose belonging to mom though they were nearly always her throw aways. I also wore the pantyhose belonging to a friend who lived across the street from me. She was a year older than me and had Sears pantyhose especially for people our age. An older neighbor woman gave me her pantyhose a couple times as did a lady friend of my parents. There was also my second grade teacher. I managed to pilfer her discarded pantyhose for several months.
Finally, mom had a friend who sold pantyhose. Her brother helped me acquire over a thousand pair from her inventory but that is another story.

Like so many others, my first experience of wearing pantyhose was when I was about 12, trying on my step mother's pantyhose.........I was hooked straight away and have been wearing stockings and pantyhose ever since!
