BTW Dark Horse's Total Carnage was the origin of Jim Carrey's character The Mask. If you never read it, it was one of the most violently hilariously deranged characters of all time. And he ended up getting his brains blown out by his girlfriend. The film had nothing to do with it, except for the mask itself before he put it on. And the dog... except the dog was not as cute lol you should read up on it if you ever find it, it was brilliant

Yeah Waid does the best Daredevil and he and Rucka co-wrote Omega Effect off the back of Fear Itself. Glad that the street level characters are coming back. They're more complex and appeal to me as an adult whereas the superpowered community are like a constant geek tantrum where someone always cries "Wizard Beats Barbarian; Barbarian Has No Powers; Worst Comic Book EVERRRR!!!" The geek critics are the worst. I started off with 2000AD for Dredd and Rogue Trooper, went onto Marvel for Punisher and The Nam as a kid and DC for Green Lantern, then Dark Horse for Aliens, Terminator, AvP, Total Carnage and such and just started reading a gain a few years ago for the Punisher runs. I'll read a few main events like Blackest Night and Civil War etc but generally, Marvel and DC don't half know how to fuck their fans over for a quick gratuitous fuck of a megabuck. They're idiots with continuity and as A-List as Mark Millar is as a writer, he sure knows how to take a shit on his characters fans

No I followed a lot of reviews on it though and it looks great. I'm waiting for it all to be completed so I can just buy the annuals. I'm sick of my shop always selling out of Punisher so I miss out and then still have to splash out on both. I kept up with Rucka's up to about number 8. The lack of inner monologue is okay. Ennis did it best because he wrote a consistent and eye opening train of thought. No one else did. They just made him depressed and grumpy sounding. The art is brilliant. But people are only coming around to FrankenCastle now. They lauded it which was why Remender handed in his resignation on the series eventually but it was like a cross between Hellboy and TMNT. It was a good dose of wackiness that captured his attitude well and made him an actual hero for a while. Also there's an Untold Tales from MAX after they killed him off, which looks great and they've brought on a new writer for each issue

Remender's run from Dark Reign, FrankenCastle and In the Blood were brilliant. The only problem was In the Blood's artist. It deserved better and not only that, Frank's writers all but Garth Ennis have a thing where they keep getting their stories cut short by the studio. The new chapter could have led onto other great things but it was cut short for Rucka to take over. But at least now he gets better respect and better artists from Marvel. The Omega Effect was supposed to be great with Spiderman, Punisher and Daredevil but Jason Aaron put him in a great Arnie parody with Hulk called Stay Angry
