Xhamser Is a Strange Place
So I've been on this site for a little more than four months now and I've definitely gotten a feel for who uses it and how it is used. You have folks who drop by to get their porn fix, you've got daters, you've got the people who earn their living in the sex business, you've got scammers, you've got kinksters, you've got voyeurs and exhibitionists, you've got curiosity seekers, you've got fakes, you've got misfits, you've got cyber players,....but mostly you've got a lot of masterbaters.
I get the sense that there are a lot of people who would like to communicate here, but for one reason or another lurk in darkness. I understand that, too, especially if wifey comes to check on you in the computer room regularly. It works that way for women, too. I can't tell you how many times I've been innocently chatting with someone and they suddenly disappear never to be heard from again. There are some people here with atrocious table manners, also. Just because I'm submissive doesn't mean you start insulting me right out of the gate. At 50 years old, I've lived a little bit and don't have an urgent boner like I had when I was a stupid teenager. There are a lot of dudes here that are just trying too hard, or maybe the game has passed me by and I'm not trying hard enough.
...but men aren't the only ones urgent for attention. First off I want you to know that I don't care how a woman makes her living. I tip my hat to the ladies who can loosen a man's wallet in exchange for their sexual edification and fantasy. However, I constantly get hit with content feeds, messages, and profile comments where the first words of contact are "tribute me". Can I at least get a "hello" first?
Since this is a place where people can fantasize, it's important to realize that most of the profiles are exactly that. It's rare and refreshing to me when I open a profile and see a real person. The catfish are everywhere here, however, and if you do wind up making contact with someone don't be surprised if the person you're talking to aren't who they say they are.
I like Xhamster and appreciate the forums they have provided for people of all different tastes, but I absolutely hate the way some words are blacked out when I'm writing/reading a post. Just because I write the word f. a. m. i. l. y. doesn't mean I'm f-ing someone in it. It's about as arbitrary a filter as I've ever seen. Somebody came up with a list of words that they found offensive and fed them into the program. It's odd to me that on a site where you can find some of the most twisted porn on the internet, you can't express yourself in print without your words being censored.
So here's where I'm going. Xhamster is good for having a wide variety of porn, pics, gifs, kinky profiles, x rated stories, etc... In terms of a dating site, I don't think this is the place you want to be. The concept of finding someone who shares you're kinks is awesome, but they have a lot bugs to work out here before it's an effective hook-up place.
