至 LaMaluca : Maybe, I don't know. I don't mean to get all cerebral in a place that's meant to be so carnal. In all honesty, I seldom let my higher reasoning get in the way of what I desire sexually unless I feel like there's a strong likelihood of it hurting myself or someone else.

至 LaMaluca : I do agree that bona fide sex addiction, like so many other personality constructs, is probably a result of some complex set of interactions between one's genes and one's environment like you said, but I definitely think it's reinforced by a culture which ridicules any male who decides not to have sex with a receptive, healthy female. Males are expected to behave as sexual opportunists, and if we go against that expectation, our culture dictates that there has to be "something wrong" with either the female or the male.

Tldr; not fucking a female because of a lack of compatibility isn't an option for a gender normal male because it implies that she's fucked up in some way or that he's impotent.

Sex addiction's genetic, learned and occasionally encouraged. But I don't think it's a gender norm.
