Having rented the house from Jim, an older gentleman in his mid 70’s, I agreed for a lower monthly rent to do whatever minor maintenance which the house may need. Danny felt very lucky he landed a part-time job at one of the hospitals in the city next to where he lived. It was the summer before his junior year in high school and for the remainder of the summer he would work a full 40 hours a week. This is a true story, names have been changed. My mom remarried after my dad died to a man who had five c***dren. I was already an adult and married when dad passed.
